Selah: Pause and Consider | Your Worth Is Not Found in a Title©

For some people, a title becomes proof that they matter, proof that they succeeded, protection against feeling overlooked, or a way to gain authority and respect they did not previously receive. A title - whether earned or honorary - may describe your role, but it should never become the foundation of your worth.

Jesus repeatedly challenged religious leaders who loved public recognition and honorable greetings. Not because honor itself was evil, but because many had begun to confuse status with righteousness and recognition with true greatness. Titles can elevate position without healing insecurity. They can command attention without producing wisdom. They can create influence without creating character.

Some of the wisest people will never sit in a university classroom. Some of the most compassionate people will never stand behind a pulpit. Some of the most impactful people will never receive public recognition at all.

We’re praying for all those who feel the need to prove their worth through titles, positions, or public recognition. May they come to know that their true value is already seen by God.

Selah. Pause and consider.

Peace & Blessing!
