So… Is Christmas Really About Christ?©

Every year around Christmas, the same conversation comes up:
“Isn’t Christmas a pagan holiday?”

Some people point to history, traditions, or dates and decide the whole celebration should be dismissed.

But JESUS addressed a similar concern while He was walking with His disciples.

When they complained that someone outside their group was doing ministry in His name, Jesus responded:

“Do not stop him… for whoever is not against us is for us.”
— Mark 9:39–40 (see also Luke 9:49–50)

Jesus made it clear that what mattered most was His name being lifted up, not where something started or who initiated it.

That principle still applies today.

For many Christians, Christmas isn’t only about trees, lights, or traditions—it’s about Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who came from Heaven to earth, lived among us, was crucified, dead, and buried; rose again on the third day, and ascended into Heaven in power and great glory.

That part isn’t up for debate.

Jesus lived.
Jesus walked this earth.
Jesus died.
And Jesus is alive.

You can argue about dates and customs if you want, but you can’t erase the reality of who He is and what He did. You can’t “X” Christ out.

If Christ is being honored, if His name is being spoken, and if hearts are being drawn closer to Him, then the focus is exactly where it should be.

At the end of the day, Christmas isn’t about where it came from. It’s about who came.  And that's always worth celebrating.
