As a Christian, I believe I am called to not only pray for those who are wronged by others and are being or have been abused, victimized, and neglected, but - so too - for those who have caused the wrong and are abusing, victimizing, and neglecting others. And that’s a hard pill to swallow for me sometimes; especially when I witness or experience the results of the evil, hatred, and vile acts. When I see, hear about, or feel the devastation and harm caused. But our Father God expects us to do it, and when I find myself struggling to do it, I ask for His help understanding He wants me to do it and will help me do it.
Abba expects His children to do it by following the example of their Brother who did it. Our Lord and Savior JESUS, His only begotten Son. Our Father God gave us the tools that not only serve to help us live a life of righteousness, joy and peace, but so too to save the lost and restore those who have fallen away. He gave us His Son, His Spirit, and His Word, and He expects us to utilize them in helping fulfill His purpose: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19-10)
Be encouraged Brothers and Sisters and let this 2019 Lenten Season be one filled with forgiveness for others and a renewed sense of commitment to obeying God.
