TESTIFY! ©

What glory does God get when His children are silent about Who He is, what He has done, and what He is continuing to do in their lives? Isn’t the Word of God filled with testimonies about the lives of those who were converted, healed, and set free after experiencing the Spirit of God in the Old Testament and Jesus Christ in the New?

God put us all in folks’ business. He made sure we knew who they were before who they became. I surmise that if it was left up to Moses we wouldn’t have ever heard about how he killed a man. But God told it. And, oh boy, do you think King David would have openly testified about how he had a man sent to the front lines of war to be killed so that he could pursue the man’s wife who he lusted after? Perhaps not. But God made sure we knew all about it.

We were told in His Word about the woman who bled for 12 years and was healed when Jesus touched her in the spirit.  (The Bible lets us know that she touched him physically).  We heard all about the life of the Apostle Paul who once slaughtered and persecuted Christians when living as the educated Pharisee from Tarsus as Saul. And how about the prostitute? You think the now delivered Sister So and So wanted us to know about the life she lived before Jesus healed her? Maybe not. But don’t the details make a difference in the testimony? Doesn’t that information – 12 years of bleeding, slaughtered and persecuted Christians, lived as a prostitute – make a difference in helping us to better fathom and convey how GREAT God really is and what a difference Jesus Christ can make in a person’s life? I believe so although others may think not.

And that’s why I tell my story whenever God uses me to tell it and only when it will give God the glory. I’m not ashamed of my past because God walks with me into my future. It matters not that you know who I use to be or what I use to do as long as you recognize that who I was I no longer am, and what I use to do, I no longer do. The devil can’t shame me about my past because I am proud of my future. God changed me, and even though "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:14), I will testify the details whenever the Lord leads me to do so because my life belongs to Him 100 percent. To God be the Glory for the things He has done!  Testify!

Exodus 2:11-12 (KJV)
11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.  12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

2 Samuel 11:15 (KJV)
And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

2 Samuel 12:9 (KJV)
Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

Luke 7:37-39, 47-50 (KJV)
37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. 49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? 50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Luke 8:43-44 (KJV)
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,  44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

Acts 8:3 (KJV)
3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

Acts 26:9-15 (KJV)
9 I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. 10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. 11 And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities. 12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, 13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. 14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
