The Holy Bible is a “book.” It is a book of books written for God’s children; those of us who have been “born again” because we have accepted JESUS CHRIST as our Lord and Savior. Those of us who have willingly made Him Master of our souls. Believers who have ears to hear and eyes to see. It’s a revealed and living Book not based on scientific observation nor historical documentation and must be “rightly dividend; rightly handled.” (2 Timothy 2:15) In it, God’s children can hear Him speak through those authors He breathed on and inspired to pen His Word. We can hear Him instructing and training us in righteousness and on how we may be complete and equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
When God’s Word speaks of sin, He is speaking to the Believer. He is not speaking to the Nonbeliever. God is speaking to His children. He wants us to be successful. He wants us to make it in. He wants us to have eternal life. He knew we would need help living “saved” after we got “saved.” He did not send JESUS into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through JESUS might be saved. (John 3:16-17). However, “no one born of God makes a practice of sinning .” (1 John 3:9-10)
Now, if you have not taken that first step, i.e., renouncing the devil, repenting of your sins, and asking JESUS to come into your life as Lord and Savior, then don’t worry about understanding the Bible or trying to be complete and equipped for every good work. You will not be able to (unless the Holy Spirit moves upon you, that is). You have not been saved. You have not been redeemed by the Blood of JESUS CHRIST. You will not understand it, and you will justify reasons for rejecting it. But for us… for God’s children… We know better. We have surrendered to the Master and realize that He knows what is best for us. Instead of trying to justify our wrongdoing and sins, we pray to our Father God in Heaven repenting of those wrongdoings and sins. We desire to please Him, and we look to Him in prayer, fasting, and the reading and studying of His Word for guidance and help in doing so. We willingly surrender our wills to His will. Our desire is to trust and obey.
So - in closing - please know that even though God wants those of you who do not believe in Him to accept His only begotten Son, JESUS, He gives you a choice in doing so. And until you do – if you do - don’t worry about understanding the Bible. Keep doing your thing and rolling the dice of life. But whenever you are ready and hopefully it will not be too late, know that God is waiting to receive you with open arms. Whenever you have had enough of Satan’s junk, and realize you are in life’s wilderness going around and around the merry go round getting nowhere and having no real joy, then go to Him. Go to JESUS. Surrender all to Him and your life will never be the same. Whenever you’re ready… but don’t delay.
